Checkout & buyers

Can a drop oversell?

Crafd checks stock again when a buyer submits payment and reserves the pieces while it is confirmed.

  1. Browsing does not reserve a piece.

Opening a page or choosing a quantity leaves the pieces available to other buyers.

  2. Payment starts the hold.

When the buyer submits a valid payment attempt, Crafd reserves that quantity, including the selected choice. Other checkouts cannot take those reserved pieces.

  3. If the last pieces are already in checkout.

The buyer sees The last pieces are being paid for right now. Try again in a few minutes. A smaller remaining count may ask them to choose fewer pieces. If a choice or the whole drop sells out, checkout updates what is available.

The payment window is 15 minutes. A reservation may remain longer while Crafd checks or cancels an uncertain payment; it is released only once that payment is known not to have succeeded. A paid order replaces its reservation.
