A buyer saw their total change at checkout. Why?
Checkout prices the current choices, destination and settings.
- Check the chosen details.
Changing the piece count, choice, shipping country, delivery method or tip refreshes the total. Selecting a state or province can add the tax you set (sign-in required) for that place.
- If the total changed while paying.
When the tax or quote changes as the buyer pays, checkout says the total just changed and they weren’t charged, and asks them to check the total before placing the order again.
- If tips were switched off.
When you turn tips off (sign-in required), an open checkout removes the tip and explains why. If payment submission catches the change, it says the buyer was not charged and asks them to check the total and place the order again.
Availability is checked again too. A buyer may need to choose fewer pieces or another choice. While an existing payment is being confirmed, the buyer should wait rather than submit another payment.
